I am Laurie's daughter, and this is probably the final message that will be given on her deviantART account.
Laurie went into a coma on the 5th of July 2009. She was taken off of life-support on Friday July 10th, 2009.
This is her obituary:
Laurie Ann Benjamin Grover, 46, of Austin passed away unexpectedly on July 10. Laurie was the loving mother to her three beautiful children, Michael Thomas, Jennifer Lauren, and Caroline Elyse and dedicated wife to Thomas Carl Grover for 29 years. Also survived by her parents Linda and Arthur Benjamin, brother, Michael Benjamin, and countless other family members and friends. Laurie was born in Cheyenne

To be happy in life like a cat. I must take a Paws, in life and art.
I have no idea how long it will be before I am back up and posting. I will be checking in.
I am going to be out -surgery on Monday to do a full replacement of my knee. I have lots of friends and family for support.
I want to let all of you here know what a wonderous community DA has- :)
I will begin featuring some of the artist I have collected their works in FAV's this summer. I will try to contact before posting works and a short article about them.
To understand art is to sometimes be able to peer into the soul of the creator. Careful not to see to much, not to loose

LB, I ran from DA for months if not years as the messages piled up and up and it was stupid of me. You were a good friend and an amazing artist. These are my final words to you, I dearly wish they didn't have to be. You will be remembered.

I've been thinking about you lately, friend ... thinking about life, and love, and death. I didn't understand it when you passed away, but I think I do now, at least better. Living as happily as you did in the present and being unafraid of what the future brings ... I want to learn to do that too. Thank you for inspiring me today, Ms. Laurie. May your soul continue to rest and blessings to pour out onto your family
